Where is the painting puzzle?
The puzzle is inside the Konstig gallery's Echo exhibition in the Evacuation Zone. A Secret marker and the keyhole-like symbol identify the hideout. Read the Paintings Sold note at the front desk before changing the lights; it names the four works the room expects.

The position labels assume you are facing each trio of paintings. They are useful as a shortcut, but the visual subject is the safer check because players can enter or circle the exhibition from different directions.
How do the gallery switches work?
Each display group has a nearby control that cycles the spotlight between its canvases. Leave the light on the painting matching that group's sold title, then move to the next group. There is no timed sequence and no required order: the hidden passage opens as soon as all four correct paintings are lit at the same time.
Why does the wall stay closed?
First confirm that each spotlight is still resting on a canvas; it is easy to press a switch one extra time while moving around the room. Then identify the pictures by subject instead of relying only on left or middle. Journey must show the road, Windows the looping branches, Thunder the centered lone tree, and Tides the fallen tree with water.
All four answers feature trees. The tree itself is not enough: match the road, looped branches, centered field, or water to the title on the desk note.
What is behind the secret wall?
The opened route leads into a hidden room with documents and a reward chest containing a Health Upgrade Point. The location also counts toward the Secret Hideout collection. Collect the room contents before leaving; solving the lights alone is not the same as looting the hideout.
